My kind of Super Bowl

2 Feb

You already know I am not a fan of football… I may be a fan of football players, but only if they’re cute. ūüėČ

But given that today is the grandest day for football fans, I would like to offer you all non-football fans just like me a different kind of BOWL.  A bowl you can cozy up to and will warm up your day.  I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.

Some Harbaugh Super Bowl Ideas

31 Jan

I am not into football… but I have always been into Jim Harbaugh. I admit it!!!

When I went to school in Chicago, Jim Harbaugh was the quarterback for the Chicago Bears and he was the only reason why I withstood the frigid Chicago wind in the middle of winter to see my one and only live NFL game. Again, I do not follow football or the Super Bowl at all, but when last week everyone on Facebook was talking about the Harbaugh Bowl, my radar was on. I will most certainly be watching the game next Sunday, but mostly the takes they make on the coaches. In the meantime, you and I could be munching on these ideas that will certainly be the best side kick to any Super Bowl celebration.

And may your favorite team win… I am 100% sure a Harbaugh will celebrate with a ring!!!!

A Spanish Super Bowl???

1 Feb

Why not?? I know Spaniards are really into soccer… American Football is only a US novelty. A big one, I should say.

I am not into American Football at all… but I am into watching all the TV commercials. The only thing I have been a bit into are the players.  I am dating myself here but I used to like to watch the Chicago Bears a bit when Jim Harbaugh was quarterback.  I even went to a game in Soldier Field РThanks John and Dave!!!

(Believe it or not, I didn’t know until finding links for this post that Jim Harbaugh is currently the head coach for the San Francisco 49ers, who almost went to the SBowl this year!!!¬† I told you I wasn’t into it…¬† but he still looks as cute as ever!!!)

Last year, I hosted my friends Dan and Yvonne (who are really into football, I might add) with a Puerto Rican inspired snacking spread. Well, this year I want to do it with a Spanish/Mediterranean menu.¬† Why??¬† Because even though I am not into soccer either, I have now a big crush on Real Madrid’s goalie Iker Casillas…¬† and besides, why not???

You’ll see this is a celebration of Tomato, Spinach and Bread… Here are the options:

Spinach Croquetas

Sun-dried Tomatoes Stuffed Mushrooms

Warm Goat Cheese tapa

Queso de Cabra Tapa - KFC

Empanada Gallega

Pan con Tomate

And 2 Sangrias to wash it down ‚Äď regular red sangr√≠a and a White Sangr√≠a
